Mr. Han Jinming

Chairman of WHIEDA, FOHERB, and FOHOWAY. An outstanding business strategist and management expert, he plays a pioneering role in the successful global integration of Western nutrition and traditional Chinese medicine. Under his leadership, the organization has achieved dynamic growth and international recognition.

Mr. Qu Junsheng

Chairman of the WHIEDA Board of Directors, a prominent leader in the healthcare sector, as well as Chairman of FOHERB and CEO of FOHOWAY Pharmaceutical Company. He possesses extensive professional experience in global corporate governance and management, contributing to the development of the healthcare sector with his outstanding leadership skills.

Our Professional Advisor:

Professor Zhang Daning

Dr. Zhang Daning is the honorary dean of Shijiazhuang Hetaiheng Hospital. He is a leading expert in Traditional Chinese Medicine, known as the founder of Chinese medicine nephrology (the branch of medicine dealing with kidney diseases). Asteroid 8311 bears his name, a unique recognition for a doctor. He is a Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at several universities, including the Faculty of Medicine at Nankai University. He is a key healthcare expert among Chinese leaders, as well as the Vice President of the China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the President of the Association for the Promotion of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China.

Dr. Aaron Ciechanover

M.D., Ph.D., D.Sc.

Born on October 1, 1947, in Haifa, Professor Aaron Ciechanover is a world-renowned Israeli biologist and a distinguished research professor at the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.

Nobel Prize in Chemistry (2004)

Professor Ciechanover was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2004, along with his colleagues Professor Avram Hershko (Technion) and Dr. Irwin Rose (Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia), for their pioneering discovery of ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation.

This revolutionary discovery revealed how cells systematically break down proteins that are no longer useful – a fundamental process essential for cellular health and function.

Discovery of the Ubiquitin System

The ubiquitin system acts as a cellular quality control mechanism:

A ubiquitin molecule attaches to the target protein, functioning as a cellular "passport."

The tagged protein is recognized and transported to the proteasome.

The proteasome breaks down the protein into smaller fragments.

Amino acids are recycled to build other cellular materials.

This discovery proved to be one of the most significant breakthroughs in modern biology.

Medical Impact and Drug Development

Professor Ciechanover's research led to the development of life-saving anti-cancer drugs, including Velcade®, and immunomodulatory therapies. His work revealed that the ubiquitin-proteasome system is a cornerstone of cellular biology – cells not only produce proteins but also regulate their breakdown.

Failures in this system underlie numerous diseases, including cancers, neurodegenerative disorders (Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease), and immune diseases. This understanding has enabled the identification of new therapeutic targets and the development of innovative cancer treatments that specifically influence the proteasome/ubiquitin pathway.
